1. Your mother-in-law wants another woman for his son. Many daughters-in-law are in this situation. Even if her son is already married to you, she still cannot accept that you are her son’s choice. Of course, it is more important if the woman she wants to be her daughter-in-law is the daughter of her best friend or if she is more beautiful, richer, and more educated than you. And it doesn’t just happen in the movie, but also in real life.
2. Your mother-in-law wants her son to be by her side forever. Mother-in-law thinks that her daughter-in-law is her rival in the love and attention of his son. When a mother-in-law is very attached to his son, she only wants her child to be with her forever. No matter how beautiful you are, rich or educated, she will not accept you because she sees you as a rival.
3. Your mother-in-law doesn’t like you because of your family’s financial status. ”You are poor”, “your family is poor” that’s why your mother-in-law is against you as her son’s wife. What’s worse is that they aren’t rich either, but how she insults you is too much. I’m sure many of you can relate to this.
4. Your mother-in-law doesn’t like you because of your past. Your mother-in-law judged you because you used to be called a ‘babaeng mababa ang lipad’ or because you used to work as a waitress in clubs. She judged you because you are a single mother, and she thinks you’re not worthy of her son as a wife. Sometimes your sisters-in-law also participate in insulting you, right?
5. Your mother-in-law wants her son to finish his study or to be successful in his career. Not all mothers-in-law are like the ones I mentioned above. If this is the reason why she doesn’t like you, it is not only for herself but for the future of her son. She will be against you because she thinks you ruined her dream for him, that you’re just a hindrance. But remember, it’s not your personality that she hates but the dream for her child that was thwarted. Just give her a grandchild, and her heart softens.

Regardless of the reason why your mother-in-law doesn’t like you, don’t let your respect for her lose. Even if you turn the world upside down, your husband still owes his life to his mother. Just reciprocate with kindness whatever she treats you, one day she will accept you as her daughter-in-law, and God will continue to bless you.
